Micro Machine Company

A Short History

Micro Machine Company was founded in 1964 by entrepreneur and inventor William Walker, known for his Walker Downriggers (used for Great Lakes fishing) and an electrical surgical knife. This medical device caught the eye of an investment firm and in 1988 the company was purchased and current owner Larry DeHart was brought on as Operations Manager. Larry brought with him fifteen years of experience in the Aerospace industry and implemented that industry's "best practices" philosophy. That philosophy together with the medical industry's GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) "lifestyle" permeates through everything we do here at Micro, culminating with our ISO 9001:2000 certification.

For the past 10 years Micro Machine Company's growth is a result of our unrelenting attention to detail and our strategic alignment with some of the Orthopedic industry's most recognizable OEM's. To keep pace with our growth and our customer's demands, in 2005 we expanded our facility and our capabilities. We added a 9,000 square foot addition to our Kalamazoo, Michigan manufacturing plant and added significant Wire EDM, CMM, Laser Marking, and Passivation equipment to further compliment our CNC Milling, Turning, and Finishing capabilities.

These technologies and investments will ensure the future of Micro Machine Company. A future, even more successful than our past, as we continue being one of the industry's best and most trusted contract manufacturers of complex assemblies and devices.
